What if I need a Self-Query response from both the NPDB and the HIPDB?
The NPDB and Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank (HIPDB) merged into a single Data Bank in May 2013. All NPDB and HIPDB reports are now consolidated as the NPDB, so only an NPDB Self-Query response is available or required. If a third party (e.g., a state licensing board) asks you to provide a response from the HIPDB (old terminology) or the NPDB, please ask them to contact the NPDB Customer Service Center.
